Dear Eden Prairie Neighbors,

I am running for Mayor of Eden Prairie.

My wife Mona and I moved into Eden Prairie in 1998 with our then-two-year-old son, Konrad. We fell in love with the parks and trails and thought it provided the ideal environment in which to raise our family. Eight years (and three more boys!) later, we feel even stronger. No doubt about it -- Eden Prairie is the best place to live in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Strong schools, great parks, energetic residents, and a thriving business community.

My years on the Eden Prairie City Council have prepared me to assume the additional responsibility of Mayor. I understand well the inner-workings of our fine City. I have worked with other metro area elected leaders on issues of regional importance. I recognize the critical role which our many volunteer organizations play in contributing to our great quality of life. And, I’m in it for the long term—my wife and I will raise our children in Eden Prairie and it is important that our City’s success continue for the next generation.

My job as a lawyer requires thorough preparation, well-reasoned analysis, and strategic thinking. I have relied heavily on those skills during my years on the City Council and I will use them even more as Eden Prairie’s Mayor.
